Grace Hayden, the daughter Australian cricket great Matthew Hayden, has landed a plum new gig as she continues to make waves in sports media.

The budding 22-year-old is already an emerging TV star of the future, having worked on Channel 7’s racing coverage as well as various cricket competitions.

She worked alongside her famous father during the recent Border-Gavaskar series with the pair posing for a photo together at the Perth Test.

While Matthew was a member of Seven’s commentary team, Grace was reporting from the ground for Indian network Star Sports.

Grace will now take her talents to digital sport platform Racing X, which is a Hong Kong-based racing content operation aimed at the younger generation.

Racing X, which was launched in July last year, describes itself as “not just a platform; it’s a movement, and we’re thrilled to be at the forefront of ushering in a new era for horse racing media.”

Grace announced herself as a new host on Instagram during the week ahead of Saturday’s Magic Millions meeting on the Gold Coast.

“Surprise, Racing X family! I’m Grace Hayden, and I’m the brand-new face of the Racing X team,” she said from Luna Beach Club.

“I’m going to be bringing all things sport, racing, fashion, lifestyle - you name it. I’m your girl, and I cannot wait to dive into Magic Millions week this week.”

Her new gig will take her to different sporting events around the world, including Saudi Arabia and Las Vegas.

“Dad is always super proud of me in everything I do,” she told News Corp.

“We’ve loved working together over in the cricket space and I am going to continue to do that with the IPL coming up.

“He is proud and knows I will do the family well.

“His advice has been to have fun and be myself, to shine in my own way.”
